INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Optional: sesame seeds or coarse salt for topping
PREPARATION:
- In a large bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.
- Add warm water and olive oil; stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover, and let rest for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Divide dough into thin strips about 1/2 inch wide.
- Roll each strip into a long thin breadstick shape. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Optional: brush with olive oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds or coarse salt.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden and crisp.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.
